First Delivery to Bluewater Health Begins MMC’s Southwestern Ontario Logistics Expansion
Today marked the first delivery of medical/surgical products to Bluewater Health in Sarnia as part of Mohawk Medbuy’s (MMC) expansion of Warehousing and Logistics services for hospitals in Southwestern Ontario. The hospitals will be served from Medline Canada’s Distribution Centre in Guelph, as part of an agreement with MMC announced earlier this year.
As a national, not-for-profit, health care shared services organization, MMC is implementing major logistics-based initiatives to improve reliability of service for Member hospitals across Ontario. Through MMC’s just-in-time, low-unit-of-measure distribution model, these changes will help strengthen supply chain resiliency, enhance service reliability and provide cost efficiencies for Member hospitals across the province, while delivering scalability for the future.
Bluewater Health is Sarnia-Lambton’s principal acute care hospital, serving 131,000 people in the area.
