Mohawk Medbuy Welcomes Northumberland Hills Hospital to Our MEALsource Nutrition Procurement Service

Mohawk Medbuy (MMC) is pleased to welcome Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) to our MEALsource nutrition procurement service. NHH joins hundreds of hospitals and other public sector organizations across the country benefiting from MMC’s not-for-profit, shared services model.

NHH, a growing community hospital in Northumberland County, has been leveraging our Strategic Sourcing, Redevelopment and CAPsource Capital Equipment service lines. With their transition to MEALsource, NHH will join hospitals in Ontario and PEI that rely on MMC and our team of specialists who, collectively, have more than five decades of health care nutrition procurement experience.

“We’re delighted to have Northumberland Hills Hospital join our growing roster of MEALsource Members,” said Tony DiEmanuele, MMC’s President and CEO. “When Members expand their partnership with MMC, we see it as an indication of their trust in our solutions and the important role we play in Canada’s health care supply chain.”

MEALsource Members are actively involved in the product selection process, enabling them to customize their nutrition offerings to meet the individual needs of their patients and facilities. A key feature of the program is its focus on providing locally sourced, high-quality products wherever possible. Additionally, MMC’s aggregated volume pricing helps hospitals optimize value for their specific nutritional requirements.

“We’re pleased to work collaboratively with MMC to enhance patient nutrition, which is critical to overall experience within a hospital, said Judy Fleming, Vice President, Digital Health, Analytics and Chief Clinical Information Officer, NHH. “The flexibility of their approach, combined with local sourcing, creates a wraparound community benefit that supports both patient health and local farmers.”
