Windsor Regional Hospital Selects MMC for New Fancsy Family Hospital Project

Mohawk Medbuy (MMC) has been selected by Windsor Regional Hospital (WRH) as a procurement lead for contracts related to the redevelopment of the newly named Fancsy Family Hospital – from its current development phase through to its anticipated opening. This agreement advances MMC’s existing relationship with Windsor Regional Hospital.

MMC, a national, not-for-profit, shared services organization, will provide consultation and comprehensive support in the procurement of redevelopment contracts and furniture, fixtures and equipment not covered by the hospital’s existing Managed Equipment Services agreement with GE HealthCare.

The new Fancsy Family Hospital is a transformational project that will have a generational impact in our region,” says Brandon Bailey, Windsor Regional Hospital Vice President of Redevelopment. “By leveraging shared procurement services with MMC, we can collaborate with partners across the region to ensure greater efficiency and value for our community.”

The Fancsy Family Hospital will replace Windsor Regional Hospital’s two existing aging acute care campuses with a modern facility. The new hospital will have approximately 50% more space than the two current campuses and capacity for 100% single-patient rooms. It will feature smart technology to improve communication and support timely access to care, a helipad and a flexible design with planned capacity to meet future health care demands.  In addition, the hospital will continue to offer some outpatient and urgent care services in the downtown core at the current Ouellette Campus.

“We’re proud to be working with Windsor Regional Hospital on this important project,” said Raechel Griffin, Senior Vice President, Strategic Sourcing – Capital and Nutrition. “We’ll be leveraging the expertise we’ve gained over many large-scale health care redevelopment projects to provide value and help make it a success.
