MMC to Provide FF&E Procurement Support for Providence Care’s long-term Care Home Redevelopment Project

Mohawk Medbuy (MMC) will provide procurement support for furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) for the redevelopment of Providence Care’s long-term care home, Providence Manor, in Kingston, Ontario. The organizations recently signed a Statement of Work outlining MMC’s role on the substantial project.

The redevelopment of Providence Manor will replace the original long-term care home with a modern, six-storey, 320-bed home. The new home is designed to support resident dignity, safety and comfort, while enhancing staff workflow. It’s expected to be operational late 2027. Providence Manor Redevelopment - Providence Care.

“The redevelopment of Providence Manor is an important step in continuing to support the needs of our residents, families and care teams,” says Krista Wells Pearce, Vice President Corporate Services and Executive Director, Hospice. “We’re pleased to be working with MMC to help ensure the home is thoughtfully furnished and equipped to support comfort, and quality care for the people we serve.”

MMC’s FF&E team provides consultation and procurement support for capital projects across the health care sector. Working in collaboration with architects, designers and site leadership, the team will help procure a wide range of furnishings, fixtures and equipment to outfit the home including resident rooms, kitchen and dining areas, staff spaces along with many others with the aim of creating a home-like environment that fosters a sense of community.

“Through our previous work on Providence Care’s hospice residence, AB Smith Homestead House, in 2025, we’ve built strong working relationships with their leadership team,” said Raechel Griffin, Vice-President, Capital and Nutrition. “We’re pleased to support this redevelopment and contribute to a space that reflects the needs of Providence Manor’s residents and care teams.”
