Mohawk Medbuy Welcomes Long-Term Care & Senior Care Provider Partners Community Health as a Member

New relationship builds on previous collaboration that added 632 LTC beds to the Mississauga community

Mohawk Medbuy (MMC) is pleased to announce that Partners Community Health (PCH) has officially signed on as a Member. The Mississauga-based long-term care (LTC) and senior care provider now has access to MMC’s significant portfolio of medical/surgical contracts and can participate in our large-scale sourcing initiatives. As a not-for-profit, shared services organization, MMC’s supply chain solutions generate substantial savings for the health care sector and are backed by our procurement and clinical expertise.

PCH joining MMC builds on the two organizations’ previous work together preparing for the November 2023 opening of Wellbrook Place, Canada’s largest LTC homes. PCH selected MMC to help equip Wellbrook Place, which added 632 LTC beds to the Mississauga area. With the population of seniors in Mississauga set to triple by 2040, the new homes help support the growing need for LTC in the community.

Wellbrook Place features two new, state-of-the-art LTC homes and an Integrated Seniors’ Hub to support seniors in the community. MMC’s cross-functional team worked closely with PCH throughout the complex, multi-year process to open the new homes – providing services extending from contract optimization and project management to inventory planning and designing onsite supply space.

Specialized health care equipment along with thousands of other supplies were needed to equip Wellbrook Place for residents. MMC’s large-scale contracts helped drive significant value for furniture, fixtures and equipment, including beds and lifts along with many other essentials – from medical supplies to IT services.

“MMC provided Partners Community Health with end-to-end support every step of the way with the opening of Wellbrook Place, and their sourcing solutions are well-suited to support our future needs,” said Raj Krishnapillai, Vice President, Business Operations and Chief Financial Officer, PCH. “Through this partnership, we look forward to gaining significant value on the supplies we rely on to support our innovative and inclusive programs, services and models of care.”

“We’re excited to officially welcome PCH as a Member and honoured to have worked with them on a project of this scale and scope,” said Janice Mundell, Chief Marketing Officer and SVP Strategy, Mohawk Medbuy. “MMC’s supply chain expertise and longstanding relationships with suppliers allowed us to drive maximum value for PCH’s wide range of needs for Wellbrook Place. We look forward to leveraging the strong partnership we have forged in our future initiatives.”
