Weeneebayko Area Health Authority Transitions to Mohawk Medbuy’s Accounts Payable Services

Mohawk Medbuy (MMC) is pleased to welcome Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) as a Member of our Accounts Payable (AP) Services. This continues a trend of significant growth for Mohawk Medbuy, as health care and public sector organizations from across the country are drawn to the value, innovation and insight delivered by our not-for-profit, shared services model.

WAHA will benefit from MMC’s centralized, cloud-based Accounts Payable platform to streamline invoice capture, processing and payment – eliminating the need for paper handling and manual data entry. The ERP-agnostic system supports WAHA’s workflows with enhanced business controls and utilizes artificial intelligence to improve efficiency.

"Under our previous system, tracking invoices was challenging, and there were concerns about the potential for documents to be misplaced or overlooked," said Michael Boudreau, Manager of Financial Services and Reporting at WAHA.

"With MMC, our records are systematically tracked throughout the entire process, and it is consistently clear who holds responsibility for the invoice at each stage."

MMC’s AP Services processes over 900,000 invoices each year for Ontario hospitals, representing more than $5 billion in annual spend. Through the advanced AP platform, Members gain critical visibility and analytics on their payables that help optimize hospital cash and spend management.

“This initiative marks a positive step in our growing relationship with the Weeneebayko Area Health Authority,” said Ryan Martens, Director of Accounts Payable Services at Mohawk Medbuy. “Northern hospitals have unique challenges, and our expertise and centralized AP platform are helping WAHA address them with advanced tools and robust financial controls.”
