Ontario’s Children’s Aid Societies Renew Multi-Year Agreement with Mohawk Medbuy

The Ontario Association of Children’s Aid Societies (OACAS) has renewed their multi-year procurement agreement with Mohawk Medbuy (MMC) – signing on for more of the value, innovation and insight offered by our not-for-profit, shared services model.

OACAS is amongst the hundreds of health care and other public sector organizations across Canada that rely on MMC’s large-scale contracts, which account for more than $3 billion in annual spend on essential supplies and services. Savings realized through MMC’s value-based procurement solutions can be redirected to Members’ frontline programs and services that benefit the children and families in their care.

“We’re delighted that Ontario’s child welfare sector appreciates the service and value MMC provides,” said Tony DiEmanuele, MMC’s President and CEO. “As their engagement with our offerings continues to grow, we look forward to enhancing our support of these agencies and the crucial work they do across the province.”

The agreement benefits child welfare organizations that operate in geographically and culturally diverse communities across Ontario. Along with realizing significant savings on essential supplies and services through MMC contracts, all children’s aid societies (CASs) have access to high-level guidance from MMC’s sourcing professionals.

As part of our organization’s Reconciliation Journey and ESG initiatives, Mohawk Medbuy is actively supporting the creation of a resilient value chain that incorporates the social and economic wellbeing of Indigenous Peoples.

“We’re pleased to renew our partnership with Mohawk Medbuy to support the procurement needs of child welfare agencies across the province,” said Solomon Owoo, Director of Finance and Information Technology at OACAS. “It’s an excellent solution for the child welfare sector to ensure we are accessing the best possible products and services while maximizing savings.”
