Mohawk Medbuy Announces the Appointment of Peter Longo to Chief Operating Officer

Mohawk Medbuy is pleased to announce the appointment of veteran strategic sourcing executive and passionate community advocate, Peter Longo, to the role of Chief Operating Officer, marking an important continuation of the company’s leadership strategy. Longo will assume this role beginning September 2, 2020.

“Peter will provide operational leadership and direction across Mohawk Medbuy’s diverse business streams,” said Tony DiEmanuele, President and CEO of Mohawk Medbuy. “We are thrilled to have a steady hand at the operational helm, supporting the executive team in shaping our commitment to innovation and growth. We look forward to continued momentum and operational excellence under his leadership.”

Longo is an accomplished supply chain executive with over 20 years of experience driving sustainable value chain improvement in the health care, pharmaceutical and telecommunications industries. He is a highly effective negotiator, creative problem solver and exceptional leader.

Longo’s expertise and vision have already contributed to Mohawk Medbuy’s success. He served on the Board of Directors and, most recently, was seconded from his position as Chief Supply Chain Officer at Unity Health Toronto to lead Ontario Health’s COVID-19 Supply Chain SSO Task Force.  Mohawk Medbuy was an integral member of this Task Force, charged with leveraging resources and expertise to source, clinically evaluate and distribute PPE and other medical supplies for health care workers across the province during the pandemic.

“Joining Mohawk Medbuy during this transformative time presents an exciting opportunity,” said Longo. “Having seen, firsthand, their commitment to innovation, collaboration and value efficiencies, I look forward to working with teams across the company to bring a collaborative approach to the fundamental services they provide.”
